My hubs LOVES Sonic ice! He craves it! There are a few other restaurants and places that have it and when he finds a place, he always gets an extra cup to munch on it. I've been looking for years to find a counter top ice maker that produces it and for years I could only find the original standalone machine that costs thousands. When people started producing counter top versions, the reviews weren't great. Recently, after several years, I decided to revisited this quest. I found hope in the newer machines that looked like they were getting closer. After pouring over reviews and descriptions, I decided on finally buying him this one for Christmas this year. I'm happy to report: The cubes are the perfect size for crunching! He says it could be just a tad more "watery" (whatever that means -- it's ice -- isn't it naturally watery?? -- But I'm not as fanatical about rabbit poop ice as he is), but he says "it is pretty darn close" and he loves it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The machine produced ice almost instantly. I was impressed by how fast it worked. It's footprint on the counter is about the size of a normal-sized coffee maker. Our knife block with the knives stands taller than this machine. So it doesn't take up much space as I thought it would. The water capacity is pretty decent: it makes about 2 tumblers full of ice -- or 1 32oz convenient store plastic cups -- we'll have to experiment with making extra to store in the freezer but so far hes eating them as fast as its making them 😆 The quality of the machine is mostly plastic but seems sturdy and good. The loudness is not more than the exhaust fan on the stove, but as mentioned it doesn't take long for ice to be produced, so the machine doesn't run long. Over all, this was a great buy!! 👍

My husband loves this soft ice machine. He usually has a cup of ice around all day at his desk and likes to chew on it instead of drinking sugar drinks like juice or pop. So he was so happy he got this machine for Christmas. It’s easy to set the machine up. We feel that it’s not a loud machine , makes ice within 15 to 20 minutes. We use bottled water and the softer ice tastes great. The machine footprint is about equal to a 4 slice toaster. We just got it for Christmas so will have to stay tuned for durability. My husband loves this ice machine

We love this ice machine. After reading many reviews and watching user videos, I decided on this one for its cost, ease of use and cleaning, ice production, and small size for sitting on the countertop. We use a lot of ice and our fridge ice maker does not work well sadly. We waited the recommended 24 hours, leaving the machine upright in the box. Then we loaded it with water, plugged it in, and pressed the button; it began making ice within 6 minutes. (we tossed the first 5 batches or so as rec.) It has a slight hum when it is on, but nothing bothersome to us. Some say this ice cannot be frozen, or it turns into a block of ice, but we figured out a way that works for us. Once the ice basket is full, we dump the ice in a bin in our freezer. After we get a good amount of ice in the bin, we break it up with an ice pic We may have to do this a couple of times, but we are ok with that for the amount of ice we can produce over a few hours.This is our second Silon ice machine. The first one turned on but never made ice. We returned with no hassle and ordered the one we now have. It just must have been a bad machine. We are thankful the return was easy.

My family and I don’t know how we ever lived without this countertop ice maker. We absolutely love it. We have ice all the time, it’s not loud, and it does exactly what it says. No more ice cube trays on the counter needing to be filled, no more fighting with ice cube trays. We have ice on demand, all the time.The only thing I’d say is that for some reason I thought it would be like an ice bucket on the counter with ice 24/7. It’s not quite like that. The basket is small and takes a bit to fill up, so to get any kind of real quantity it needs to be dumped into a container in the freezer so it can fill up again. It’s not a bad step, it’s no big deal, and we have a very large container in our fridge full of ice all the time because of it.Also, the ice in the basket isn’t kept frozen, so to speak. I don’t know how to explain that because it sort of keeps itself frozen, only it will slowly melt back into the water reservoir over time, then reproduce whatever ice the sensor says there’s room for. This is a horribly inefficient way to leave it as it continually uses electricity if you do that. You absolutely CAN do that, I’ve left it overnight and when I woke up, the basket was still full but it had been cycling all night to keep it that way. It’s best to keep dumping it into its own container in the freezer and let it make more or shut it off.Also, you might want to invest in an ice pick if you don’t have one. The ice comes out a bit “wet”. So when you dump the basket into a container in the freezer, it’s going to freeze together into a lumpy lump. 😄. It’s easy enough to break it up. I use two containers in the freezer, one for ice and one for the new basket of ice. After a little while, i just break it up and pour it into the big container.I’m probably making this sound like work, and it really isn’t at all. It’s a lot less work than ice cube trays. We really really love this product and will never be without a countertop ice maker again.You won’t regret it.

Update! I had this ice maker for just over a year and it died. It had become noisy and then stopped working altogether right after the year mark. I loved it when it worked.I have had this almost a year and no one uses the fridge ice maker anymore. This ice is that perfect crunchy ice that everyone is looking for. I couldn't see paying a huge price for a countertop ice maker when I technically had an ice maker in the fridge. This one has been great. It was easy to use and setup was basically wash it out, plug it in, and fill it up. We have well water so I buy those big jugs of water at Costco to fill it. The price was great, it makes ice in about 6-7 minutes, and the ice is exactly what I wanted. The downside is that it has started to be noisy. I clean it, use bottled water, and It has plenty of space around the machine for air flow. I am hoping that it continues to function. I also wish it was a larger capacity because everyone in my house now takes "mom's ice." However, I hate clutter and appliances on my countertop so for the size of the machine it does make a decent amount.
