This is such a great idea for those of us who enjoy pour over coffee
I use this almost every morning and is my preferred method of making coffee. Great because you don’t have to buy one use coffee filters, and easy to clean, plus has a trendy and hip design.
This just proves you don’t need an expensive coffee maker to make great coffee. For $20 it’s fine and once you dial in your favorite strength you will never go back .
There is good and not so good about this coffee maker, though it is not reflecting on the quality of this particular model. Rather, this type of coffee maker and also the size can be misleading. First, note that you CANNOT make 2 average size mugs of coffee in this small pot. Not gonna happen. Figure, tops, 1.25 - 1.5 cups. So it was smaller than I anticipated as I like to make 2 cups with 1 cup leftover for iced coffee the next day. Next, is the process. It takes a while. The hot water (I boil the water, then after it stops boiling, pour it over the coffee) cools fast as the filtering process is SLOW. By the time all the water is passed through the coffee into the pot, figure on very warm, but not hot, coffee. I tried coffee filters so I could easily scoop up the used grounds and toss in my compost bin, but it kept folding over and was a mess... so don't use paper filters. Clean up is easy, however. How did the coffee taste? VERY good. Waaaay better than the plastic-infused off-taste of a Mr. Coffee that I returned after numerous attempts at cleaning, running water and vinegar to get that bad taste out failed. But this coffee maker fell way short of my expectations. It may be just fine for some folks, but for me, it was a fail overall.
I really enjoy this coffee maker. The reusable filter is great and the coffee is delicious.
